Leslie was always a guy who apparently liked Cadets. Cadets were at St. Andrews College as the 48th Highlanders and many boys had to be in it. Leslie was a Lieutenant in the Cadet Corps which was a quite high rank at the time. This was because of his dedication and his well roundedness at his school St. Andrews College.
