MILITARY FUNERAL AT CHESTERTON Soldier Mortally Wounded at La Bassee The funeral of Private Albert Arthur Burley (8313) of the 3rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers, took place with military honours on Saturday afternoon at Chesterton Parish Churchyard. Private Burley who was 25 years old was wounded in the headed by a piece of shrapnel while in action at La Bassee on the 14th April and died in the military hospital in Devon on May 3rd. The chief mourners were the widow abd child, the deceased's father and mother, four sisters and two brothers (Private Thomas Burley, O Company, 8th Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment and Mr William Burley, of Etruria, five sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law, two of whom were Private George Beckett and Absalom Knight, North Staffords.
