Acting Company Sergeant Major James McAulay THOMSON 2nd SAI, C Coy Was of the last South African group relieved on the 20th July at Delville Wood. Awarded the DCM for his conduct at Delville Wood. Died of wounds received in front the Butte de Warlencourt (as Second Lieutenant) on the 17th October 1916 (St Sever Cemetery, Rouen)
