Stanley, then aged 23 and employed as a Carpenter, was living in Needham Market in the household of his father, a Building Manager, along with his mother, his brothers Eric, an Assistant Clothier aged 18 and Ivor, a Scholar aged 12, and his sisters, Muriel, an Assistant Teacher aged 24, and Edna, a Scholar aged 15.
