FUNERAL OF PRIVATE J.A. ROSHER The funeral of Private John Albert Rosher, of the 11th Surrey Regiment, whose home was at Needham Market, took place at Barking Churchyard on Thursday afternoon, the Rector (the Rev. Chas. Baker) officiating. By the kind permission of Lieut. Col. G.W. Walters, commanding the Wessex Territorial Engineers, a firing party from the regiment attended the obsequies. The coffin was of polished elm, with bras furniture, and the breastplate was inscribed: “Private John Albert Rosher, 11th Surrey Regiment, died March 3rd, 1916, aged 28 years.” Six of the rank and file of the Wessex Regiment acted as bearers. Three volleys were fired over the grace and the ‘Last Post’ was sounded.
