Individual Summary of Edgar Percy Sladden

1895 - 9th August 1918

Edgar Percy Sladden was born in 1895 at 122 Wincheap, Canterbury, Kent. The 3rd son of Walter Ernest Sladden (1866–1933) and Rosa Kennett (1866–1960). Before the war he was a photographer’s assistant and in 1915 he married Hilda Mary Easton 1890–1969). Edgar joined (date unknown) the 10th Battalion East and West Kent Regiment The Buffs. He was killed in action 9th August 1918 and has no known grave. He is however commemorated on the Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France and The Canterbury War Memorial in the Butter Market Canterbury.
