Private, 24596, King's Own (Royal Lancaster) Regiment. Born St Annes, enlisted St Annes. Killed in action on 03/05/17, aged 36/37. No known grave, but named in the Memorial Chapel at St Annes Parish Church, on the memorial in Ashton Gardens and on the Arras Memorial, Bay 2. In 1911 Oliver was living at 100, Church Rd, aged 30, a bricklayer with Annie, his wife of 8 years. They had one son and two daughters. By the time of Oliver’s death the couple had three (possibly four) children. Oliver was baptised on 17/ 04/1881 at St. Annes Parish Church, the child of Frank and Margery, of Church Rd. He had been in France about seven months when Mrs Richarson received a letter from Oliver’s friend Pte W Hodge, of St. Annes, telling her Oliver was missing.
