Rebecca and Thomas Frooms lost two sons in the Great War

known 1897

Rebecca Frooms nee Sanders and Thomas Frooms lost two sons in the Great War. In descending age order they were:- 202764 Corporal William Byrt Frooms of the 2/4th (City of Bristol) Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment, who was recorded as missing presumed dead at Arras, Pas-de-Calais department, France, on 29 September 1917, aged C23; and 301740 Private Arthur Frederick Frooms of the 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment, who died of wounds in or near the village of Ramillies, Nord department, France, on 28 October 1918, aged C20. The 1911 census probably confirms that William and Frederick were the only sons of Rebecca and Thomas Frooms to have survived to adulthood, meaning that, with their deaths, they lost their only surviving sons. BOTH SONS ARE REMEMBERED ON THIS SITE
