The name of Private Harry Burgwin, of 32, Union Street, Barnsley, has to be added to the long list of local heroes who have paid the great sacrifice. He was attached to the local second battalion, and enlisted two years ago. Private Burgwin was 24 years of age and single, and in civil life, was engaged as a trammer at the Barrow Colliery. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Burgwin, but had been brought up from boyhood by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burgwin, who reside at the address named.
