Lives of the First World War

Lewis was the son of James Henry Mapps and his wife Ann Jane Mapps nee Lewis. He was the fifth child of seven and his father was a local village policeman in Glamorganshire. He was born when his father and family was living at the county police station at Glyncorrwg.
