BAILIFFE BRIDGE SOLDIER FALLS - Brighouse Echo

Mrs Greenwood, of Springwell Terrace, Bailiffe Bridge, received official information on Wednesday morning that her youngest son, Pte. Richard Greenwood, of the West Riding Regt., had been killed in action, in France, on Oct 3rd. Pte. Greenwood enlisted in March last year, and was in training at Brocton Camp, Staffordshire. He went out to France in the latter part of June. He was well known in the village and for many years was employed in the finishing department at Messrs. T.F.Firth & Sons, Ltd., Clifton Mills. He was 29 years of age, and was connected with the Moravian Chapel, Lower Wyke.
