'More Misery for 3rd Birmingham Pals'

20th December 1915 - 1st January 1916

On 30 Dec 1915, after a short 3 days rest, the 16th Royal Warwickshire returned to the C2 sector of trenches, in front of Carnoy, It was New Year's Day, 1 January 1916 when the battalion suffered its first fatality, Sgt Frank William Grove (no 331, B Coy) from Shustoke, near Coleshill.
