Margaret Elizabeth Bramfitt was the daughter of George and Mary Jane (née Birbeck) Bramfitt. Her parents were married in Houghton Le Spring in 1877. Following the death of her mother Mary Jane in 1886, her father re-married. George Bramfitt and Isabella Nelson Nicholson were married in 1887 in Houghton Le Spring. The family later moved to Bolsover. The census records can be misinterpreted as Isabella is recorded as George's wife but not as stepmother to George Addison and Margaret Elizabeth.
