ALDRIDGE NURSE'S DEATH. Funeral with Military Honours. On Thursday afternoon, thee remains of the late Nurse Alice Amelia Potts, V.A.D., of Manor Cottage, Aldridge who died from pneumonia on November 17, after just a week's illness were Interred, with full military honours in the family vault in the Old Churchyard, Aldridge. The firing party was composed of local volunteers, .under Sergeant Machin, and wounded soldiers from the Aldridge Hospital acted as bearers and as a guard of honour. The floral tributes were most numerous and very beautiful. Born in 1863, Miss Potts was a fully qualified Red Cross Nurse, had taken all her degrees of V.A.D. work, and was the senior and surgery nurse at the Aldridge Auxiliary Military Hospital, where she was beloved not only by the staff, but also by all the "boys" with whom she came into contact. She was one of the firstt is Aldridge to join the V.A.D.. and was engaged in the work before the war commenced. When the Aldridge Hospital was first opened, the helped to make it ready. and she had been helping there ever since. She was " one of the most unselfish characters I ever met; she put herself last in everything, and would help anyone," was the whole-hearten tribute paid her by a fellow-V.A.D. worker. She will be sorely missed, not only by the hospiral but by the whole of the village.
