DUNDEE MAN, LAST TO LEAVE SUVLA BAY, Dies of Wounds on Board Hospital Ship. Quartermaster-Sergeant James Craig, a Dundee man, was the last man to leave Suvla Bay, and his many friends in Dundee will regret to learn that he has died from wounds. Mrs Craig, 80 Nethergate, Dundee, has received intimation of her husband's death in a letter from the Rev. Alex. Macinnes, assistant Presbyterian chaplain, who belongs to Glasgow. Mr Macinnes writes:—l regret very much to announce to you the death of your husband, Quartermaster-Sergeant James Craig, of the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry. His lamented death took place on board the hospital ship, I understand that he was almost the last man to leave Suvla Bay. and am certain the last man wounded. His wound was in the head. I can assure you that he was buried with all reverence and with full military _ honours. Strange to say I met a man hospital, Sergt. Kidd. of Edzell. also of the Fife and Forfar, who was suffering from frostbite, and he was much distressed when I told him the sad news. He said that your husband was the best loved man in the regiment. Deceased, who was 32 vears of age, had served twelve years the Royal Scots Greys, and on the outbreak of war he re-enlisted in the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry.
