Lee’s school at Forest Row, Sussex. He played in O.T.H. VI in 1906 and in both 2nd XI’s (cricket and Association) in 1907. He went up to St. John’s College, Oxford, in 1907 and after two years’ training in his father’s office in Manchester went out to Singapore. On the outbreak of war he immediately volunteered in the Singapore Rifles and took part in repressing a mutiny among the native troops early in 1915. He was subsequently detailed to perform guard duties at various places round Singapore. He caught a severe chill early in July 1915 while stationed at Labrador, on the western point of the city of Singapore, and on the 16th July died suddenly of heart failure, although according to the announcement of his death in The Times, he died of acute malarial fever.
