Death of Second Lieutenant Roger Meyrick Heath

Death of Second Lieutenant Roger Meyrick Heath

15th September 1916

Henbury Parish magazine War Diary, September 1916: Charles Way, the Vicar, writes: "Last week news came of the death of Second Lieutenant Roger Meyrick Heath, only son of Mr and Mrs Meyrick Heath of the Laurels, Cribbs Causeway. Sometime ago he was injured in the left hand by the explosion of a bomb when training in England. Now after a brief time at the Front, he has given his life. His course at Oxford was a brilliant one, and great things were expected of him, but best of all he was a man of clean life who put God and his duty before all things."
