Henbury Parish Magazine War Diary, June 30th 1918. Charles Way, the Vicar, writes: "I regret to say that Francis Trueman must be added to the list of missing." December 26th 1918: "Francis Trueman is reported to have been killed by shell-fire soon after reaching France." January 7th 1919: "Mr Trueman has very kindly paid me a visit to say that he has no hopes of seeing Francis again. The War Office has notified after a long delay that he was killed in battle between 11th & 13th April 1918. To me & Mrs Way in whose Sunday Class he used to be, he will ever be a very dear lad." (Private Francis Trueman, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, was 19 years old) December 26th 1918: Francis Trueman is reported to have been killed by shell-fire soon after reaching France.
