Walter James Nicholson Hogbin

Walter James Nicholson Hogbin was born on the 1st April 1878 at 39 Castle Place, Dover. His parents had six sons and two daughters, his brother Christopher Varnard Hogbin lost his son Stanley Christopher Hogbin in 1915, aged just 17. Walter enlisted in Kilburn, London where he lived with his wife and two children. He had married in 1900, Elizabeth Jane Hughes. He joined The King’s (Liverpool) Regiment as a Private, and died on 26th August 1918 of his wounds. He lies in The Terlincthun British Cemetery and his grave inscription reads ‘ In loving remembrance from his sorrowing wife and children’.
