News was received on Thursday, by Mr and Mrs T Walker, Wyborne Gate, Westcliffe Road, Birkdale, thatheir second son, Second Lieut Basil Scarisbrick Walker of the 5th Battalion, Cheshie Regiment, was killed in action in Flanders on Monday. The deceased officer, who was 26 years of age, was educated at Rugby and King's College, Cambridge, where he took the degrees of B.A. and .L.L.D. He was articled in a firm of chartered accountants in Liverpool, and when he enlisted he was within two months of his final examination. He joined as private on August 14th last, and received a commission a couple of months later. He excelled at golf, and was a plus man at the Hesketh Golf Club, and he was a keen tennis player. Mr and Mrs Walker have two other sons on active service with the 5th Battalion, Manchester Regiment, Captain J S A Walker and Sec Lieut Thomas Cartmel Walker
