D. 70 Beverley Minster (Yorkshire Regiment) - (as T. Gorforth) Beverley Memorial, Hengate, Beverley (as T. Gorforth) "Pte. F. Goforth, Yorkshire Regiment, Wounded. Miss S. Goforth, 6 Hinds Yard, Keldgate, Beverley, has received official intimation that her nephew Pte. F. Goforth, Yorkshire Regiment (Territorial) has been wounded." (Beverley Guardian, Saturday 23rd September 1916) Pte. Fred Goforth, Dies of Wounds. Pte. Fred Goforth, Yorkshire Regiment (Territorial) son of Mrs Aaron Lazenby, 107 Lairgate, Beverley, and nephew of Miss S. Goforth, 6 Hinds Yard, Keldgate, died of wounds on the 16th September. Prior to joining the colours he was employed at Messrs. Hodgson tannery. He had been at the Front about a year and was 19 years of age." (Beverley Guardian, Saturday ?? October 1916)
