Lieut. Alexander James Cook, Lincoln Regiment, who was killed on April 28th, was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Cook, of Ravenscroft Park, Barnet. He was educated at Bedford School and Neuchatel, and after working for a time at Grantham, and enlisting in 1914, was sent to Malta. The following summer he received a commission in the Lincoln Regiment, and, after serving in Ireland, left for the front last January. His colonel writes : " At home he was a most efficient officer, and out here he has won the admiration of us all by his cool courage and splendid behaviour under fire at all times.—The Times.
