Major Eustace Henry Egremont Abadie served in the South African War, 1899-1902. Was present at the advance on Kimberley, including the action at Belmont, Enslin, and Magersfontein. Relief of Kimberley. Took part in the operations in the Orange Free State, Feb. to May, 1900, including operations at Paardeberg (17 to 26 Feb); actions at Poplar Grove, Dreifontein, Karee Siding, Houtnek (Thoba Mountain), Vet River (5 and 6 May) and Zand River. Was present during the operations in the Transvaal in May and June, 1900, including actions near Johannesberg, Pretoria, and Diamond Hill (11 and 12 June). Again in the Transvaal, east of Pretoria, July to 29 Nov, 1900, including actions at Reit Vlei and Belfast. In the Transvaal, west of Pretoria, July to 29 Nov. 1900,. Operations in Cape Colony and the Transvaal, 30 Nov. 1900 to 31 May, 1902. Mentioned in Despatches, London gazette 10 Sept. 1901. Queen's Medal with 8 Clasps and King's Medal with 2 Richard Neville Abadie served in the South African War, 1900. Took part in the operations in Natal, March to June 1900. Queen's Medal with Clasp
