On the Outbreak of WWI in 1914, there were over 1500 co-operative societies in Great Britain, with 150 thousand employees and 3.1 million members. These individuals were researched as part of the 'From Shop Floor to Front Line' project, funded by a £10,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and aimed to explore the impact the war had on co-operative members and employees. An exhibition titled: 'Form Shop Floor to Front Line' is being displayed at the Rochdale Pioneers Museum from the 27 June 2015 to 14 May 2016. Opening hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm
