A Few of the Many - HM Coastguard

A Few of the Many - HM Coastguard

The Coastguard, while not strictly part of the Navy was administered by the Admiralty from 1850-1923 and by WW1 was staffed mainly by old RN personnel. They manned coastguard stations all round the coast. These older sailors had all joined well before 1900 so don't appear in lives seeding documents. The majority on this site have been manually added by volunteers but it remains a small selection. This community highlights just a few.
