When my Grandfather was wounded in the arm he was returned to the UK to convalesce at Woodcote Hospital. Woodcote Hall was the family seat of the Hanbury Tracy Family who allowed their home to be used as a rehabilitation hospital.

Edith Cecil Celadine Hanbury Tracy, Baroness Sudeley of Toddington. This photo is signed by the Baroness to Garbutt in memory of his stay at Woodcote.

When Henry Marshall returned to Police duty he became well known in Durham for "point Duty" as he directed traffic with his frozen finger. See story "point Duty". He he is sat on Bishop Aucklands fire tender pointing at nothing in particular.
