He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Field Artillery. Child of Captain Richard Esmond Curwen Escombe and Beatrice Dorothea Cochrane Delia Susan Escombe b. 11 Feb 1945 Beatrice Dorothea Cochrane was born on 2 December 1900. She is the daughter of Sir Ernest Cecil Cochrane, 2nd Bt. and Ethel Amy Davis. She married Captain Richard Esmond Curwen Escombe, son of Edmund Escombe, on 16 February 1924. From 16 February 1924, her married name became Escombe.
