Plaque for Thomas Matthews, St Luke's, HollowayBeautiful plaque from the church Thomas and his family attended in Holloway North London. States that Thomas was confirmed by the Bishop of London shortly before his death in France. Exact wording: "In loving memory of Lance Corporal Thomas Tyrrell Bicknor Matthews Queen's Wesminster Rifles (only son of Mary and the late Thomas Tyrrell Matthews) who was killed in action at Ypres on 4th June 1915 shortly after his confirmation at the front by the Bishop of London aged 25 years. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
