Portrait photograph of Evan Cecil NepeanLieutenant Evan Cecil Nepean 3 Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers (attached 3 Battalion, Royal Fusiliers) Lt Nepean, who was born at Hatfield in Hertfordshire and educated at Winchester College, enlisted in the London Scottish Regiment on 5 November 1914. He received his commission in April 1915 and was posted to the Western Front with the Royal Scots Fusiliers. Lt Nepean subsequently served in Salonika for three years, returning to the Western Front in 1918 with the Royal Fusiliers. He was killed at Le Catelet, aged 25, on 4 October 1918.
