Description: The medal to the left is The Queen's South Africa Medal awarded to military personnel who served in South Africa during the Second Boer War from 11 October 1899 to 31 May 1902. The clasps read upwards Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal. The medal to the right is the King's South Africa Medal. The recipients had to have served in the theatre of war between January 1902 and 31 May 1902 and completed 18 months service in the conflict. The award was open to officers and men of the British Expeditionary Forces.
