Samuel Handley WhitfieldSam in uniform outside an army hut during his training. He trained at Heaton Park Manchester, then at Belton Park, Grantham Lincs, then Larkhill Camp, Salsibury Plains, Wiltshire before leaving for France on the ‘Queen Alexandra’ from Southampton on 7 Nov 1915.
