Angus was part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force and served in the 4th Battalion. He died on August 3rd, 1953 and is buried alongside his parents in Avondale Cemetery in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

Prior to his enlistment, Angus was a fireman on the Grand Trunk Railway. He started to work for the railway in his teenage years.

After the war, Angus farmed south of Brantford, Ontario. This photo was taken with his nephew Jim and his brother-in-law, Nelson in the early 1920s. Prior to farming, Angus had been chauffeur to Colonel Cockshutt, the farm machinery manufacturer and sometime Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario.

Script for Cologne, Germany

Just how Angus came by this "souvenir of war" is a mystery. The best guess is that he traded if for something and it may well have come into his possession after the war. It is also likely that there is not a lot of it in existence today since unused script was 'called in' after the war.
