Robert Jobson's GravestoneIn September of 1916 the Canadians were involved in the battle of Flers-Courcelette and between 15th and 17th of September Robert was "reported missing", however later on, he was found to have been "killed in action" with his body being buried in a field between Pozieres and Courcelette, four and a half miles north east of Albert. His body was eventually exhumed after the war and re-buried at Courcelette British Cemetery - Plot VII. F. 6. He was Pte. R. Jobson 59509. 21st Bn. Canadian Inf. (Eastern Ontario Regt.) My Granny Paton, Annie had now lost both her parents and her younger brother. I have a copy of a report, showing details of Robert's burial and his next of kin, Ann Armour from Ballingry Fife.

Orwell War Memorial in Milnathort ScotlandTheis plaque was stolen from the memorial in 2014 not long after it had been repaired, but was recast and replaced for a re-dedication service the same year. The thief was eventually caught.Contributed by:
