Private Herbert George Pollard had no known grave after the Battle of Fromelles in 1916, but excavations in 2009 and subsequent DNA testing ascertained his identity. Re-buried with military honours.

Private Herbert George Pollard of the AIFPirvate Pollard served with the 29th Australian Infantry in France and fell at Fromelles in 1916. Now re-buried at Pheasant Wood Military Cemetery, France, Nord.
