Additional: I found this photo very recently (2019) when turning out an old desk that used to live in my grandparents' house - my grandma was Lilian, one of George Wroe's daughters. Unfortunately I have no information about it other than what is written on it (presumably by the photographer). I surmise that it was taken just before or during the Great War, to show that every part of the Royal Navy (George being a pensioner by then, albeit one who still worked at HMS Excellent) was ready to muck in when and if required. Going by George's white hair I suspect it would be about 1916 or so.
