Lives of the First World War

Victor Norman Winston was born on the 1st November 1893 in East Woodhay, Hampshire. His parents had four sons. His father died in 1899 when he was about six and his mother died three years later. He was apparently sent to Canada in 1903 as a Barnardo’s child. He joined The Canadian Infantry, Eastern Ontario Regiment as a Private. He lost his life on the 28th August 1918 in France and lies in The Vis-en-Artois British Cemetery, Haucourt.
