Week ending 18th October 1918 POSTMAN’S KNOCK – The week has been a sad one in several local homes. Morning after morning the postman’s knock which used to be so welcome is heard with a certain amount of dread. I am heartily sorry for those who have received bad tidings. These include the relatives of Pte. H. Chapman, who leaves a wife and three children. Mr H. Ginns' son, who has also given his life for his country, was only 18 years of age. Mr Horsley’s son died in a hospital which was bombed by the brutal foe.
