The newspaper article is transcribed as follows: MORETONHAMPSTEAD “With a feeling of sympathy and regret we have to announce the death of Sergt. W. Underhill, of the 8th Devons. On Monday his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. Underhill, of Lowton, received notification from the War Office to the effect that he had been killed in action. He was only 25 years of age, and leaves a sorrowing young widow to mourn his loss. He joined in September, 1914.”
