Frederick Albert's father was a Corporal in the Royal Artillery. He is listed as this in the 1881 Census. This would also explain the family moving around the country. His parent's were married in Colchester, a garrison town, moved to Weedon Bec in Northamptonshire where there was an ordinance depot and then to Gardenstown in Banffshire in Scotland.
