Details: George Ernest Marshall Gray (1894-1916), born 2 May 1894 in Marsala, Sicily, youngest son of Charles Forsyth Gray (was with Messrs. Ingham, Whitaker and Co., and British Vice-Consul at Marsala, Sicily) and Elizabeth Raven Gray, late of Marsala, Sicily; brother of Hubert Mackenzie Gray (1893-1917). Attended Pinewood preparatory school, Farnborough. Attended Sherborne School (Abbeylands) September 1908-July 1912; 6th form; 1st XI cricket team 1911, 1912 (captain). Occupation: on the staff of Messrs. Baring Bros. WW1, 2nd Lieutenant in the Northumberland Fusiliers, 14th (S.) Bn., obtained commission in September 1914, went to the front in September 1915.
