1899 - 1919
Sadly Emily and Charles separated before 1899 - Emily is co-habiting with John Boocock (who is convicted of assaulting her in 1902) and has at least 3 children with him. Hamby goes to live with his grandparents Brazier and then with his aunt, Emily's sister Mary . Ethel Scott, his sister, stays with her father Charles. By the time Hamby enlists his father lives in Tanshelf, Pontefract but he does give Charles as his next of kin (to start with). His medals and effects are sent to Charles in Pontefract after the war.
