Pilot Sgt C W Wright died when the aircraft he was flying (DH10 F8421) lots its starboard wings while taking off from Radford, Aircraft Acceptance Park. He was a ferry pilot and mechanic. The aircraft was built in Norwich and was being delivered to Hooton Park.
