Item published in Cambridge Daily News. Thursday 24 October 1918, p.8, reported the death of Peter B. Mackie... "... He is one of the few of Capt. Pemberton’s men, who survived the attack on Roulers, where that gallant officer met his death. Being near the spot at the time, he was able to convey to Canon and Mrs Pemberton particulars of the events which led to the death of their son, and Corpl. Mackie had since been a frequent and welcome visitor at Trumpington Hall..."
