Of Stevenage, Walter Street had previous experience as 8165 Private with the 2nd Bedfords'. Assigned 19847 Private Walter STREET (28) enlisted at Ampthill and arrived on 1 March 1915 at the Bedfordshire Training Depot in Ampthill Great Park, Ampthill. He was drafted on 22 June 1915 to join the British Expeditionary Force and would serve as Private 21022 of the Border Regiment, 8th Battalion. Private STREET was killed in action on 5 July 1916, aged 29 years and is of no known grave.
