15:09:1918 Flew as pilot to Buhl HP 0/400 D4568 19:34 out/21:10 return Observer: 2nd Lt Thomas Victor Preedy Gun Layer: 2nd Lt Hugh Reginald Dodd Conditions – intense MG, FGO on approach Searchlights – some Visibility good at 200 feet and bad at 6000 feet. Some ground mist. Approach from W. Attack – W to E. Bombs 112 + 25 – followed by strafing at 200 feet – target hanger and aircraft on ground. 15:09:1918 Flew as pilot to Buhl HP 0/400 D4568 21:53 out/23:20 return Observer: 2nd Lt Thomas Victor Preedy Gun layer: 2nd Lt Hugh Reginald Dodd Conditions – intense MG. FGO on approach Search lights – some AA. Visibility good at 100 feet and bad at 3000 feet. Some ground mist. Approach from W. Attack – W to E. Bombs 112 + 25 at 70 feet and followed by strafing at 100 feet – target hanger and aircraft on ground. Bombs dropped singly along line of hanger. HP aircraft badly damaged from MG fires – “riddled” by tracer and “ball ammunition” – main fuel Line shot away, one elevator badly smashed – lateral [ailerons] controls hit and port bottom main plane very badly riddled – aircraft control on return accomplished with great difficulty but landed safely. 20:09:1918 2nd Lt Fowler flew as pilot to Frescaty HP 0/400 C9732 20:08 out/did not return Observer: 2nd Lt Clement Clough Eaves Bomb layer: 2nd Lt John Shannon Ferguson Visibility excellent and very strong westerly wind FGO [s of aerodrome] – AA and MG fires at Frescaty very intense and accurate – in wide radius of the target. Search lights very accurate and active. 21:09:1918 Missing
