KILLED – News was received on Wednesday last that Pte Archibald Marsden, Devonshire Regt, whose home is in London Road, Macclesfield, was killed in France on July 20th. He was recently transferred from Egypt to the Western Front. Pte Marsden was 19 years of age and before joining the Army was employed by Messrs Gorton and Wilson as an apprentice brick setter. He was educated at St George’s School and attended the Sunday School and Church A brother, Pte John William Marsden, Royal Field Artillery, is serving in France.
