Henry and Clara married in the second quarter (April, May, June) of 1909, probably in the Register Office as their marriage does not appear in Ancestry's West Yorkshire records. Their eldest child, Richard, is born in October 1909, and is privately baptised at St Paul's Church Monk Bretton. Either he was premature or he was conceived prior to their marriage. Unfortunately Richard dies the following year and is buried in Cudworth Churchyard on 14 Nov 1910. Henry and Clara have four further children: Violet b.1911, Clifford b.1912, Edna b.1914 and Ida b.1916.
