"Son of Ida Byng, of 32, Bryanston Square, London, W.I., and the late G. Byng. His brother Harry Gustav (1889- 1915) also fell." A third brother ( Frederick 1895 -1921) who had not served died in 1921. Their surviving brother Ernest (1887- 1944) became vice-chairman of General Electric UK.
