Corporal Henderson was the son of Mrs Henderson and the late ex- Sergeant Henderson of the Southport Police Force, of 23 Larch St. He was 20 years of age and prior to enlistment in November 1914, was a tailor with Mr Edmund Jackson of Manchester Rd. Corporal Henderson was better known to the battalion as "Tiny" although he was one of the tallest soldiers in his battalion.
