HM Hospital Ship Llandovery Castle

HM Hospital Ship Llandovery Castle

Inspired by Community 1155 (https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/community/1155) created by Charlotte Czyzyk of the Imperial War Museum and by the Canadian Great War Project's moving tribute (http://www.canadiangreatwarproject.com/writing/llandoveryCastle.asp), this community remembers the dead and the 24 survivors from HMHS Llandovery Castle. This hospital ship was targeted and torpedoed on 27 June 1918 by U-86, 114 miles south-west of the Fastnet Rock. IWM has yet to add the Life Stories for some of the crew who belong in this community.
